Active in service to Church, Family and Community

Faith

The Holy Family council puts faith first.

  • Quarterly Corporate Masses and annual Memorial Masses for deceased members
  • Annual Day of Reflection
  • Marian devotions and Stations of the Cross
  • Funds for seminarians and Newman Centers

Family

We support family life.

  •  Quarterly family social events include Christmas parties and special outings
  • Spiritual and practical support for members in times of family distress.
 

Parish

Service to our home parish is a council priority. 

Knight's Cafe, monthly activity
  • Monthly Knights’ Cafes promote parish sense of community and raise funds for the needy.
·  Golf Outing
  • Annual Golf Outing raises funds for parish ministries 
  • We partner with and support other parish ministries:
  •  Cook and serve Friday Fish Fry dinners in Lent
  • Serve meals in support of parish retreats
  • Blood Drives

Help with Christmas lights and parking control Community

Council programs aid people in need in our local community and the world.

  • Weekly support of St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly and help with their special events
  • Annual “Tootsie Roll” drive to raise funds for the intellectually disabled
  •  “Christ in Christmas” Christmas Day program of meals and entertainment for the homeless
  • Food, clothing and funds donated to Hurricane Katrina displaced families
  • Donations for “Tsunami Relief” through the Little Sisters of the Poor; “Angola Outreach” shipment of supplies to Diocese of Bengula
    •  
    • Respect for Life initiatives:
    • Resolutions to change the Illinois Code for emphasis on respect for human dignity from conception to natural death
    • Assisting local communities with respectful treatment and burial of unclaimed bodies of children
Youth
  • Annual “Turkey Bowl” (flag football), Soccer Challenge, boys and girls basketball tournaments and free-throw contest
  • Annual Spelling Bee, Alcohol Abuse
General Business Meetings are 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
